Bio
Daisy Lowe has loved music her entire life. She grew up singing pop and doing musical theater, but she finally found a passion for classical singing as a junior in high school. An avid choir girl, she auditioned for an honors choir in Connecticut and was accepted. She loved being a part of a real choir with people who cared about music as much as she did. That led her to pursue classical music performance as her undergraduate degree.
At Western Connecticut State University, she studied voice with Laura Mashburn and performed in productions put on by Dr. Margaret Astrup. She has been a part of Donizetti’s Elisir d’Amore, Mozart’s The Magic Flute, and Menotti’s Amahl and the Night Visitors as well as scenes and excerpts from other operas. These include Sull’aria from Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro, Don’t Forget the Lilac Bush from Kurt Weill’s Street Scene, and Anne and Fenton’s Duet from Nicolai’s The Merry Wives of Windsor. She most notably played the title role in Pauline Viardot’s Cinderella.
One of her favorite parts of school is being a part of choirs. She was in WCSU’s Chamber Choir and University Choir for many semesters and received the Don Craig and James Furman Choral Music Legacy Award for her participation and passion shown for the art.
Daisy loves music just as much as she loves hiking, food, and almost as much as she loves her family. She hopes to share her joy and emotional experience of life through her voice.
